8-1-1


8-1-1 is a free health information and advice phone line available in British Columbia. The 8-1-1 line is operated by HealthLink BC, which is part of the Ministry of Health. By calling 8-1-1, you can speak with a health service representative who can help you find health information and services, or connect you directly with a registered nurse, a registered dietitian, a qualified exercise professional, or a pharmacist. Any of these health professionals can help you obtain the information you need to deal with your own health concerns or those of your family.”

Access and Assessment Centre (AAC)

The Access and Assessment Centre (AAC) is here to help you, your family member, or a friend during a mental health and/or substance use issue that is not life-threatening.

Call (604) 675-3700 – available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, or visit in person at any time.


SAFER: Suicide Attempt Follow-up, Education and Research

SAFER provides free, time-limited counseling for people experiencing suicidal thoughts, those concerned about a friend or family member, or individuals grieving a suicide.

To enroll in SAFER, contact the Access and Assessment Centre (AAC).
